Fun Dog Toy for Playing Games and Training

Written by Melissa Viera

Looking for a new dog toy for playing and training with your dog? This is a cool one that my dog loves to play with.

If you have attended classes at MJ’s you probably already know that I am a big fan of Kongs and similar toys because they are durable toys that can be stuffed with treats and food providing dogs with an outlet for chewing and mental stimulation. Kong has grabbed my attention again with a different type of toy that my dog goes wild for.

The amount of toys for pets on the market is overwhelming, and not all toys are created equal. Using toys in training is a fun way to motivate your dog. When choosing toys for your dog consider what types of toys your dog is most interested in.

My dog Riley finds interactive games like tugging and retrieving highly reinforcing. The Kong Wubba is a neat toy that can be tugged, thrown, and squeaked. The Wubba comes in a variety of colors and styles, and it is a great toy for playing games with your dog.  We use it to play fetch, hide games, and controlled tug games. The Wubba is the toy that Riley will choose out of a pile of other toys almost every time.

Playing is fun, but it is also an important part of your dogs overall well being. Have fun trying out different toys and finding the ones that your dog likes best. You can learn more bout the Kong Wubba on their website.
